About the Pre Spec Team

The Pre Spec Team supports the Design, Estimating and Production departments by preparing accurate and detailed Pre Specification pages before the quoting stage. This team bridges the gap between Art, Technical, and Estimating teams—ensuring information flows efficiently and that all project details are clear, consistent, and actionable.

Role Overview

The Design Draftsperson is responsible for creating Pre Spec pages based on project briefings, design artwork, and 3D model files. This role carries significant responsibility: all information provided must be accurate and reliable, including sizes, quantities, and technical details.

The Design Draftsperson will extract information from 3D models and translate it into simple, clear technical drawings, setting up Pre Spec pages with plan views, dimensions, and relevant production details to support the Estimating and CAD teams.

This position requires technical skills, high attention to detail, and excellent communication to ensure that information shared with other departments is precise, clear, and actionable.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and organize project information from Art and 3D files for estimating purposes.
• Create Pre Spec Pages containing all necessary details for the Estimating and CAD teams, including:
• Overall sizes and black & white line drawings
• Decorative trim and custom finish details
• Plan display views (top, front, and side views)
• Extract and interpret information from 3D models and translate into simple, accurate technical drawings.
• Review and discuss necessary updates with relevant departments; incorporate changes to maintain accurate documentation.
• Communicate clearly with other teams to ensure technical information is understood and Actionable.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
• Experience with 3ds Max for visualization and model interpretation
• Strong technical understanding and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently

Preferred (Optional):

• Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Understand about production and manufacturing process
