Job Summary
The Office / Site Nurse is responsible for overseeing the health, safety, and well‑being of all employees and contractors assigned to a construction site. This role includes providing first aid and emergency medical care, performing health screenings, maintaining medical records, promoting preventive health practices, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Care & First Aid
- Provide immediate first aid and emergency treatment for injuries and illnesses on‐site.
- Assess severity of medical issues; arrange referral to medical facility when needed.
- Maintain a well‐stocked first aid station/clinic; monitor medical supplies and equipment.
Record‐Keeping & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical / health records for all staff.
- Record and investigate accidents, incident reports, near misses, exposures.
- Prepare and submit required reports (monthly, quarterly, annually) to management / regulatory bodies.
Health & Safety Collaboration
- Work closely with the Safety Officer / HSE team to inspect site conditions and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among employees.
- Participate in risk assessments related to health (chemical, environmental, ergonomic).
Emergency Response & Preparedness
- Be the point person for on‑site medical emergencies and coordinate with external medical/emergency services.
- Assist in preparation of emergency action plans relating to health incidents.
- Any other health‐related tasks assigned by Management or Health & Safety leadership.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BS Nursing) from an accredited institution.
- Valid Professional Nursing License (e.g. PRC in the Philippines).
- Experience: ideally 1 year (or more) in general nursing; previous exposure to occupational health or construction setting is a plus
Skills:
- Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills.
- Good communication (both written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical information.
- Organized, detail‑oriented, able to maintain records, follow procedures.
- Able to work under pressure, make decisions in emergencies.
Technical:
- Proficiency in basic office software (Word, Excel) for reporting and record‑keeping.
- Familiarity with health regulations, medical protocols, hygiene and safety standards.
Working Conditions & Other Considerations
- Location: On‑site at construction project; may spend time in both site clinic/office and outdoors.
- Environment: Exposure to dust, noise, heavy machinery, variable weather, possibly remote location. Must use required PPE.
- Hours: Regular working hours with occasional need for overtime or emergency duty.
- Physical demands: Ability to move around site, sometimes climb, carry medical kit/equipment, respond quickly in emergencies.
- Reporting: May need to report to external bodies for regulatory compliance.
