Job Description

A Midwife provides comprehensive maternal and newborn care, supporting women during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. The role ensures safe deliveries, monitors maternal and fetal health, educates mothers, and collaborates with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide prenatal care, including assessments, screenings, and health education.
• Assist in labor and delivery, including normal and assisted births.
• Monitor maternal vital signs and fetal well-being during pregnancy and labor.
• Support mothers with pain management, birthing techniques, and emotional care.
• Provide immediate newborn care, including APGAR scoring, resuscitation, and breastfeeding support.
• Educate mothers and families on postpartum care, family planning, and newborn care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to infection control and hospital safety protocols.
• Collaborate with OB-Gyne specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BS Midwifery) graduate
• Licensed Midwife with active PRC license
• Preferably with experience in hospital or maternal care settings
• Knowledgeable in obstetric emergencies, neonatal care, and maternal health protocols
• Strong assessment, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills
• Able to work shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Compassionate, patient-centered, and attentive to mothers and newborns
