GENERAL JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Fitter/Welder is responsible for performing various metal fabrication and welding tasks onboard vessels or in shipyards to ensure the structural integrity and maintenance of ship components, piping systems, and equipment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Vocational Training in Welding and fabrication
  • Holder of NC II (Welding) or equivalent TESDA certification
  • Minimum of (2) years' experience in marine welding/fitting. Preferably from a ship management or ship repair environment

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out fitting and welding works as required for ship maintenance, modification, and repair.
  • Fabricate and install pipe supports, brackets, frames, and other structural components.
  • Conduct welding operations using various techniques (e.g., arc welding, MIG, TIG) and materials (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum).
  • Assist in drydock and afloat repair activities
  • Support other technical staff onboard or ashore during maintenance projects or audits
  • Maintain tools, welding machines, and safety equipment in good working condition
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and company procedures while carrying out tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area
