Our Lady of the Pillar Medical Center invites competent individuals to fill the Linen Clerk ( Reliever) position.

The Linen Clerk is primarily responsible for ensuring that an adequate quantity of linen is maintained throughout the Hospital.

EDUCATION

• At least second year college level

TECHNICAL (SKILLS)

• To ensure that Linen services in the hospital always meet quality standards to prevent spread out of infection.
• Disposes linen to ensure that it is segregated into correct categories.
• Coordinates with both laundry contractors to ensure that delivered fresh linens are clean and in good state of repair.
• Stores linen in a dedicated closed cupboard or fully enclosed mobile linen trolley secured from unauthorized persons.
• Labels specific ward items appropriately before sending to contracted laundry service.
• Ensures instruments, sharps and non laundry items are not disposed of with linen.
• Seeks advice from the Infection Control team regarding infected linen being placed in the hazards waste stream.
• Adheres to Infection Prevention and Control policy when handling both clean and soiled linens.
• Distributes linen per area.
• Soils used linen per station

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• With or without experience but willing to learn.
• Lifting Requirement: Medium- considered lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting/ and or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

Please note that this is a reliever position to temporarily cover for an employee . The duration of the role is for two (2) months or possibly longer, depending on the situation.
