Role Summary: The Inventory Specialist will be crucial in managing stock levels for MG Autoparts Inc., ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining relationships with suppliers related to stock, overseeing the ordering and logistics of parts, and playing a key role in the validation of returned goods and quality assurance of outgoing shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain accurate records of all inventory levels.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations (cycle counts, physical counts).
• Monitor stock movement, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and manage stock rotation.
• Place orders with suppliers based on inventory levels, sales forecasts, and operational needs.
• Coordinate with the Procurement Specialist and Sales Associates to forecast inventory requirements.
• Oversee the receiving, inspection, and storage of incoming parts shipments.
• Manage logistics related to outgoing orders, coordinating with delivery partners if necessary.
• Maintain effective communication and relationships with suppliers regarding stock availability, lead times, and deliveries.
• Utilize and maintain the inventory management system accurately.
• Identify and address inventory discrepancies and issues.
• Ensure that proper quality control procedures are followed for all outgoing items, including verification of parts and securing packaging.
• Coordinate with the Shop Manager and Sales team regarding the status of returned items and outgoing quality.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or logistics, preferably within the automotive, retail, or parts distribution industry. Proven experience using inventory management systems is essential. Experience in handling returns processing and quality control checks is highly desirable.

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management software (SAP, Oracle WMS, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
• Ability to forecast demand and manage stock levels effectively.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and suppliers.
• Problem-solving skills related to inventory and quality issues.
• Knowledge of quality inspection methods and proper packaging techniques for goods.
• Other: Knowledge of automotive parts and standard warehousing procedures is highly beneficial.
• Working knowledge of automotive parts classification, compatibility, and inventory codes. Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and inventory control procedures including FIFO methods.
• Ability to lift up to 25kg and stand for extended periods. Comfortable working in warehouse environments.
