Job Description
As an Intermediate Accountant, you will collaborate closely with Sydney-based supervisors to prepare financial statements, handle regulatory lodgements, and deliver accurate reports while supporting day-to-day accounting functions. You'll grow in autonomy while being backed by a supportive, growth-driven team.

The Qualifications We Seek
- Completed degree from a recognized university
- At least 3-4 years of experience in a tax/business services environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Word)
- Australian accounting experience (preferred)
- CPA Program in progress (preferred but not required)
- Ability to use relevant software without difficulty, including:
- APS TAX, XPA, Xero
- MYOB
- ATO tax portal and website
- CCH online tax libraries

- Planning and organizing tasks effectively, including setting priorities and managing time

Specialist/Technical Knowledge
- Understanding GST and income tax legislation and applying it to tax compliance (e.g., BAS and ITR preparation) with minimal supervision
- Exercising initiative to resolve technical and task-related issues in collaboration with senior staff
- Identifying review points and proposing effective solutions
Your Daily Tasks
- Act upon direction given by local supervisor and team members in Sydney
- With supervisor, prioritise work and ensure quality and accuracy
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
- Prepare work with supporting documents for review and approval
- Respond promptly to feedback and update work as required
- Maintain files in line with requirements
- Lodge approved submissions to regulatory agencies (ATO, ASIC)
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting papers
- Develop effective working relationships with team members
- Work independently with growing autonomy
- Undertake assignments as directed by supervisor
- Serve as a backup resource when local staff are absent
- Assist in preparing various reports
- Attend meetings and training as required
- Maintain high standards of service for customers and clients
