Fireman

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

A Firefighter is responsible for using their physical stamina and compassionate nature to combat fires and other hazardous situations while ensuring the safety of others.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Preventing, combating and extinguishing fires to protect lives, the environment, and property
• Operating tools and equipment used for firefighting safely and effectively
• Providing appropriate medical care within their scope of knowledge in emergencies
• Analyzing hazardous situations and thinking of quick solutions and actions
• Teaching and participating in training classes and drills
• Performing general maintenance on firefighting equipment
• Maintaining a clean environment in the department facilities

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Communication - Firefighters need to be able to convey critical information and be patient listeners when communicating with people in distress
• Fire safety - Firefighters need to know what causes fires, how they behave, and how to recognize potential hazards.
• Adaptability - Firefighters need to change with circumstances and overcome obstacles
• Problem-solving - Firefighters need to be able to make calculations and decisions quickly to save lives and stop fires from spreading
• Teamwork - Firefighters need to be team players and understand that each person's role is interdependent on the others
• Fire suppression - Firefighters need to understand fire dynamics and have hands-on experience with firefighting equipment Mechanical aptitude - Firefighters need to demonstrate mechanical aptitude
• Basic math skills - Firefighters need to have basic math skills
• Ability to learn - Firefighters need to understand and learn firefighting material

REQUIREMENT

• Education - a high school diploma or GED or a certificate in fire science or emergency medical technician
• Physical fitness - needs to pass a physical ability test, which may include events like a stair climb, hose drag, and ladder raise
• Character - You'll need to have good moral character and demonstrate how you've acted to rectify any mistakes
• Certification - EMS certification or equivalent and driver's license
• Willing to be based in Alphaland Balesin Island Club, located in Polillo, Quezon Province
