Sagittarius Mines, Inc (SMI) operates the Tampakan copper-gold project, a joint venture between Xstrata Copper, Indophil Resources NL, and the Alsons Corporation. Located on Mindanao island in the Philippines, the project spans three provinces and covers 23,571 hectares. It's one of the largest undeveloped copper-gold deposits in the South East Asia-Western Pacific region with a deposit size of 2.2 billion tonnes. The project holds significant quantities of copper and gold.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Tampakan. The Safety and Health Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment. Day-to-day tasks include conducting safety inspections, enforcing safety policies, training staff, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. The role also involves maintaining safety records and recommending improvements to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in conducting safety inspections and enforcing safety policies
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and compliance
• Skills in investigating incidents and recommending safety procedure improvements
• Experience in training staff on safety practices and maintaining safety records
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently on-site in Tampakan
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
• Certifications in safety management are a plus
• Experience in the mining industry is beneficial
