Warehouseman

The Warehouseman is responsible for the efficient and safe handling, storage, and distribution of a wide range of materials, equipment, and supplies essential to oil and gas operations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and teamwork, and is critical to ensuring that all field and operational sites have the necessary resources to maintain productivity and meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receiving and Inspection:
• Receive incoming shipments of materials, parts, and equipment.
• Verify quantities and inspect for damages against packing slips and purchase orders.
• Accurately record and document all incoming goods using the company's inventory management system.
• Storage and Organization:
• Safely and systematically store materials in designated warehouse locations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse environment, adhering to all safety protocols and industry standards.
• Implement proper storage methods for hazardous materials, chemicals, and sensitive equipment in compliance with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, API).
• Inventory Management:
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
• Report discrepancies or shortages to the Warehouse Manager.
• Operate inventory management software to track stock levels, locations, and movements.
• Picking, Packing, and Distribution:
• Pull and prepare materials and equipment for outgoing shipments based on work orders and requisitions.
• Accurately pack and label materials for delivery to various field sites or operational platforms.
• Coordinate with logistics and transport teams to ensure timely and correct deliveries.
• Equipment Operation:
• Safely operate a variety of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment and report any maintenance issues.
• Possess a valid forklift operator's license or be willing to obtain one.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and proper handling procedures for all materials.
• General Duties:
• Assist in loading and unloading trucks and other vehicles.
• Perform general maintenance and cleaning tasks in the warehouse.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve inventory or supply-related issues.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• [e.g., 2+ years of experience in a warehouse or logistics role, preferably within the oil and gas, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sectors.]
• Proven experience operating a forklift and other material handling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or a similar system).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and a demanding industrial environment.

Working Conditions:

• The role is primarily based in a warehouse or storage yard environment.
• Work may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, and industrial odors.
• Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet operational needs.
