About the Role

Phitopolis is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Financial Data Engineer to join our cutting-edge and growing team. In this role, you will utilize your problem-solving skills and sound software engineering practices to design, develop, and deploy data solutions and data pipelines while ensuring data accuracy and integrity. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including quantitative researchers and business stakeholders, to transform complex financial market data into clear, actionable insights that guide decision-making and automated trading strategies on a global scale.

Scope and Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL solutions to support quantitative research and trading.
• Implement rigorous quality and validation checks to ensure the highest level of data integrity and accuracy across all financial datasets.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that provide real-time insights into key financial and market metrics.
• Collaborate with research and business leaders to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable analytics projects and valuable datasets.
• Manage application deployment, development, data extraction, and support for data-focused products.
• Present complex analytical findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience working with Financial Market Data.
• Working knowledge of Financial Products such as Equities, FX, and associated derivatives.
• Proven experience in designing, building, and deploying software solutions and data-related software, preferably in Python.
• Knowledge on Linux, AWS, Databases (document DB and RDBMS), and Docker
• Expertise in data investigation (Exploratory Data Analysis) and data visualization.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify and explain complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience in Finance, Investment Banking, or Buy-Side investment data.
• A keen eye for data quality and a commitment to ensuring the correctness of dataset delivery.
• Willing to work daily at our BGC office
• Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
• Background in advanced spreadsheet formulas and/or data visualization tools.
• Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning techniques, and financial modeling.

Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies

• Expert-level proficiency in Python and advanced data analysis libraries.
• Extensive experience in financial modeling and analysis tools.
• Deep expertise in Linux, AWS, Docker, and various databases (e.g., document DB, RDBMS).
