Job Description:

The Microbiologist is responsible for conducting microbiological analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental samples to ensure food safety and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The role also involves maintaining laboratory records, supporting continuous improvement in hygiene and sanitation, and assisting in food safety audits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process, and finished goods (e.g., Total Plate Count, Coliform, Yeast and Mold, Pathogen testing).
• Perform environmental monitoring (air, surfaces, and water sampling).
• Prepare, sterilize, and maintain culture media and laboratory reagents.
• Record, analyze, and interpret microbiological results accurately and promptly.
• Report any deviations or contamination findings to QA management.
• Ensure proper calibration, sanitation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Participate in the validation of cleaning and sanitation procedures.
• Support implementation of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and other food safety standards.
• Maintain proper documentation and assist during internal and external audits.
• Conduct training or orientation related to hygiene and microbiological awareness as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, or related field.
• At least 1–2 years of laboratory experience in a food manufacturing or testing laboratory (fresh graduates with relevant internship experience may be considered).
• Knowledge in GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, and ISO 17025 laboratory practices is an advantage.
• Proficient in microbiological techniques and aseptic handling.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working under minimal supervision.
• Willing to work onsite and flexible with shifting schedules if required.
