Job Title: Freelance Draftsman

A skilled draftsman is required to provide engineering support, customer service, and documentation management.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Research and create plat maps or surveys using local Geographic Information Systems (GIS), develop site layout options, and ensure complete and accurate agency submissions.
  • Generate lot-specific drawings, revise existing plan documents, and organize work for computer access.
  • Provide timely support to builders on-site, expedite permitting by liaising with city/county staff, and produce address-specific plans within set deadlines.
  • Update and manage the plan library, create new plan designs from schematics to the design development stage, and execute drafting tasks.

Required Skills:
  • An associate's degree in a related field; bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of drafting experience or equivalent.
  • Residential construction or home remodeling drafting experience is required.
  • Familiarity with building codes and permitting standards in WA and OR is preferred.
  • Ability to conduct internet research and familiarity with local GIS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
