Technical Drafter

Transform design concepts into precise technical drawings that guide the fabrication and assembly of custom furniture products.

As a detail-oriented Technical Drafter, you will work closely with engineers, designers, and production staff to ensure all technical documentation meets both aesthetic and functional standards. You will be responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in drafting, deep knowledge of materials and construction methods used in furniture making, and the ability to work efficiently in a collaborative environment. This role is perfect for someone who values accuracy, is passionate about high-quality design, and thrives in a fast-paced setting.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Create detailed technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Translate design concepts into fully dimensioned production-ready technical documents
  • Prepare exploded views, assembly instructions, and component lists to support fabrication and installation processes
  • Maintain organized documentation of all revisions, drawings, and technical records
  • Collaborate with furniture designers and production teams to ensure technical drawings align with design intent, manufacturing capabilities, and material specifications
  • Review and adjust designs for structural integrity, ergonomics, and material efficiency

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Industrial Design, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in technical drafting, specifically in the furniture manufacturing or millwork industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, materials, and hardware used in furniture production
  • Familiarity with CNC production workflows, material optimization, and lean manufacturing principles is a plus
  • Experience working with global or distributed teams is a plus
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks, Revit, or other drafting/CAD software
