Job Title: Software Asset Management Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to manage software licenses, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in IT service management, software asset management, and creating effective license positions (ELPs). They must be able to negotiate licensing agreements and maintain an accurate inventory of software assets.

  • License Compliance: Monitor and enforce compliance with software licensing agreements to prevent unnecessary costs and potential liabilities.
  • License Procurement: Collaborate with procurement teams to acquire software licenses at favorable terms, aligning with the company's strategic goals.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain up-to-date software license inventory, tracking usage and expiration dates to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce software licensing costs through efficient use of existing licenses and negotiating better deals with vendors.
  • Vendor Relations: Build strong relationships with software vendors and stay informed about updates and future trends to ensure timely adoption of new technologies.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive software licensing policies and guidelines to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
  • Audits and Reporting: Conduct regular software license audits and prepare detailed reports to provide visibility into software utilization and optimization opportunities.
  • Training and Education: Educate internal teams on software licensing best practices and emerging trends to ensure everyone is working towards common goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, business administration, or related field.
  • Experience managing complex software licenses and other enterprise licenses.
  • Strong knowledge of software licensing models, including proprietary, open-source, and cloud-based licenses.
  • Familiarity with license management tools and software asset management (SAM) practices.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
