Job Role: Chemical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced chemical laboratory specialist to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for ensuring the geothermal steam purity and cooling water quality for proper implementation of water treatment programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor geothermal steam purity to protect turbines from corrosion, scaling, and clogging by conducting regular quality checks and implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Manage recirculating cooling water parameters to prevent fouling and corrosion of plant equipment by analyzing data and making informed decisions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding steam purity issues by communicating effectively and resolving problems efficiently.
  • Evaluate and implement safe and effective cooling water treatment programs to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct external/third-party activities on brine parameters monitoring by collaborating with other teams and stakeholders.
  • Participate in preparing annual departmental budgets and monitor chemical consumption to optimize resources.
  • Inspect chemical deliveries and maintain inventory levels to ensure sufficiency and minimize waste.
  • Promote a safe working environment by properly storing and disposing of laboratory wastes according to regulations.
  • Analyze laboratory results to identify trends and areas for improvement, and prepare reports for management.
  • Verify bulk chemical delivery purities to ensure conformance with specifications.
Requirements:
  • A graduate degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry is required, with a strong foundation in laboratory operations and maintenance.
  • Registration as a Chemical Technician or licensure as a Chemist is essential, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
  • At least two years of experience in chemical laboratory operations and maintenance is necessary, preferably in the Geothermal industry.
  • Experience working with geothermal systems and a deep understanding of their complexities would be an advantage.
