Job Overview

An Inventory Accountant plays a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of inventory and accounts payable/receivable for various companies.

This position involves working closely with clients to understand their business needs and providing timely support and guidance in regularly scheduled client check-ins and day-to-day communication.

  • Manage cost of goods sold, inventory demand planning, and assist clients with ad-hoc pricing/margin analysis.
  • Support new client account onboarding and configure client accounting systems.
  • Develop client relationships through providing timely support and guidance in regularly scheduled client check-ins and day-to-day communication.
  • Manage retail operational accounting including issuing invoices, reconciling discounts and chargebacks, collecting deposits, and matching accounts receivables.
  • Track and manage reconciliation schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities/expenses, and deferred revenue.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable and day-to-day client/vendor questions.
  • Support month-end accounting functions, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger.
  • Support the Controller in preparing financial reports and analysis for client leadership and coordinating work with external partners and investors.
  • Model best practices in all areas of the accounting and financial process in accordance with GAAP; collaborating with team members to analyze and streamline processes both internally and externally.
