Cost Management Expert

The Cost Management Expert will oversee the planning, tracking, and control of project costs to ensure alignment with approved financial plans. This role is critical in forecasting expenditures, monitoring financial performance, and supporting strategic decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain cost control systems and budget baselines
  • Monitor actual costs versus forecasts; identify variances and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare and present periodic cost reports, cash flow projections, and trend analyses
  • Collaborate with planning, procurement, and engineering teams to validate and reconcile costs
  • Support change management processes and assess cost impacts of variations and claims
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, internal procedures, and audit requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in cost control, forecasting, and budget management
  • Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., Primavera, SAP, or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of project controls, planning tools, and Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Knowledge of contract variations, change orders, and their financial implications
  • Mandatory experience in large-scale infrastructure or hydropower projects
  • Skilled in cash flow analysis and cost risk identification
