About this role

We are seeking an Australian Tax Specialist who can provide technical expertise in Company & Trust Tax Returns, Trust Distributions, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) calculations, Capital Gains Tax (CGT) event management, and Division 7A loan compliance and structuring.

This individual will work closely with our offshore bookkeeping team to ensure consistency and quality across operations. Additionally, they will be responsible for mentoring and collaborating with junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Company and trust tax returns
  • Calculate Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT)
  • Manage Capital Gains Tax (CGT) events
  • Ensure Division 7A loan compliance and structuring
  • Mentor and collaborate with the client's offshore bookkeeping team
  • Provide support in business activity statements (BAS) preparation and bookkeeping processes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Australian accounting and taxation
  • Proficient in Australian tax legislation and compliance
  • Familiarity with Australian Tax Office (ATO) systems and compliance deadlines
  • Xero and XPM proficiency
  • Background FYIDocs is advantageous
  • Highly accurate with a sharp eye for detail
  • An excellent communicator who can train and guide junior or offshore staff
  • A self-starter who can work autonomously with minimal supervision
