Cloud Security Engineer Role

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement cloud security strategies across complex client environments.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior and mid-level engineers, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to design scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud architectures that meet customer needs.
  • Implement security controls across Azure services, including Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Purview, and DLP/AIP, to ensure robust security measures.
  • Work closely with infrastructure and application teams to ensure secure deployment of Azure Compute, Networking, and Storage resources, guaranteeing efficient operations.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents using Log Analytics and SIEM tools, maintaining a proactive stance against potential threats.
  • Support identity and access management initiatives, including IAM, PIM, and Access Packages, to ensure seamless user experience and robust security.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive security documentation, standards, and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Contribute to automation efforts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash, streamlining security operations and enhancing efficiency.
  • Participate in security assessments, audits, and compliance initiatives, upholding the highest standards of security and regulatory compliance.
  • Share expertise on secure architecture and design patterns in Azure, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices within the organization.
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of cloud security.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud security engineering, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure security tools and services (Azure AD/Entra ID, Azure Policy, Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Defender suite, Microsoft Purview, Azure Firewall, etc.).
  • Familiarity with third-party IAM and security tools (Okta and Okta integration with Entra ID, OneLogin, Splunk, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks, risk assessment, and incident remediation techniques (HIPAA/HITRUST, FedRAMP, NIST, PCI DSS, CJIS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Good knowledge of Azure Networking, Compute, and Storage services.
  • AZ-500: Azure Security Engineer Associate certification required.
