Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Operations Supervisor to lead payroll activities for US and Canada. This role ensures timely and accurate processing, compliance with local regulations, and alignment with global standards.

This position is responsible for supervising a team of professionals handling day-to-day payroll back-office activities including the migration of these activities to our site.

  • Manage payroll operations for US and Canada, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform routine audits for payroll deductions, including union dues deduction, statutory and voluntary deductions, and overpayment deductions.
  • Ensure timely resolution of direct reports and clients' issues and concerns, escalating complex transactions as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage manual payroll input for employee payroll data from hire to retire as necessary.
  • Oversee processes for overpayment, including set-up, recovery, corrections, and refunds according to state regulations.
  • Manage banking and direct deposit setup, changes, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure strict compliance with NACHA.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US and Canada payroll legislations and statutory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate payroll processes.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures across regions.
  • Monitor payroll metrics and KPIs to ensure service excellence.
  • Manage daily operations and activities of the team, conducting performance appraisal discussions, coaching, and mentoring direct reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, HR, or business-related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in US and Canada payroll processing, with at least 3 years in a global or regional payroll role.
  • Strong knowledge of US and Canada payroll regulations and compliance.
  • Experience with global payroll platforms and timekeeping systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPP, GPA, GPHR) is a plus.
