Senior Financial Specialist | Expert Tax and Advisory Services

As a seasoned accountant with 4-5 years of experience in Australian tax, you will play a key role in helping small business owners achieve their goals. You will oversee the financial affairs of clients, ensuring they remain compliant with Australian tax laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who can think outside the box and solve complex problems. They possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas effectively and engage with others openly.

The role involves preparing and completing year-end financial statements and tax returns for individuals, businesses, and entities. You will also manage BAS and IAS lodgments, payroll tax, FBT, Division 7A compliance, and liaise with the ATO to address any issues.

You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide strategic tax planning advice. Your expertise in Xero accounting software is required, while proficiency in Fathom or similar tools is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client portfolios from end to end, ensuring accurate and timely deliverables
  • Prepare and complete year-end financial statements and tax returns in accordance with Australian tax laws
  • Manage BAS and IAS lodgments, payroll tax, FBT, Division 7A compliance, and liaise with the ATO
  • Conduct tax research and provide strategic tax planning advice to clients
  • Assist with onboarding new clients and internal system improvements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • Extensive experience in Australian tax within an accounting firm, specializing in SMEs
  • Comprehensive understanding of Australian tax regulations and guidelines
  • Experience or interest in management reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and KPI tracking
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software and familiarity with Fathom or similar tools
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
