Our company is seeking a detail-oriented Drafter to play a vital role in coordinating with engineering partners, providing prompt customer support, and maintaining organized documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating lot-specific drawings, revising existing plan documents with engineering details, and communicating with engineering partners' work for accuracy and value engineering.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Familiarity with building codes and permitting standards in WA and OR is preferred, but not required. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for research and finding plats or surveys using local GIS, recreating lot lines, developing options for house placement and orientation, generating site layout options, and ensuring complete and accurate agency submittals while following OR and WA permitting procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate lot-specific drawings and revise existing plan documents with engineering details
  • Provide timely support to builders on-site and expedite permitting by liaising with city/county staff
  • Produce address-specific plans within set deadlines and update the plan library per manager's directives
  • Communicate with and analyze engineering partners' work for accuracy and value engineering
  • Field questions and update previously distributed work promptly and defend drawings to jurisdictional reviewers as needed
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in the related field (bachelor's degree preferred)
  • 2-5 years of drafting experience or equivalent
  • Residential construction or home remodeling drafting experience required
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to build rapport
  • Professional demeanor and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
