General Accounting Professional

As a key member of the General Accounting team, this role supports the General Accounting Manager in managing day-to-day tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial data and transactions.

This position is responsible for the execution of specific accounting functions, such as accounts payable and disbursements, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Prepare or review journal entries generated by the system, ensuring accuracy with accounting standards and proper documentation.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy of financial data and transactions.

Accounts Payable and Disbursement Functions:

  • Execute transactions covered by the accounts payable and disbursement processes, including insurance-related payments, vendor payments, employee reimbursements, cash advances, and corporate credit card transactions.
  • Preparation and monitoring of aging reports.

Tax-Related Matters:

  • Ensure timely compliance of tax-related matters on disbursements, including application of withholding taxes.

Accounts Receivable Functions:

  • Perform accounts receivable functions, ensuring efficient collections and monitoring aging reports for non-premium related receivables.

Fixed Asset Accounting:

  • Support the fixed asset accounting process, including asset tracking and depreciation schedules.

Banking Reconciliations:

  • Ensure bank reconciliations are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Closing Processes:

  • Provide support for month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion of closing activities.

Audit Support:

  • Provide support during external audits and regulatory examinations, preparing necessary reports and documentation.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • University degree, with professional qualification in Finance and/or accounting, must be a CPA.
  • 5+ years' relevant working experience in auditing, accounting and/or financial reporting, preferably with insurance industry experience.
  • Detail-oriented, organized and self-motivated team player.
  • Adequate knowledge with PFRS, IFRS, taxation and insurance regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably with SAP ERP experience) and process automation in accounting.
  • Strong analytical and MS Office skills.
  • Must be willing to accept a project-based employment (temp role).
