Job Overview

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance cloud-native systems. This involves deploying and monitoring systems using established tools and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement.

This includes supporting the development and maintenance of automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports the creation and upkeep of automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code to optimize efficiency and minimize manual tasks.
  • Executes established automation processes and participates in incident response, root cause analysis, and drives production improvements for key issues.
  • Provides guidance on enabling end-to-end availability and performance of mission-critical services and works on building automation to eliminate waste and prevent problem recurrence.
  • Collaborates with engineering and development teams to support Kubernetes clusters in Azure and AWS, including cluster management, upgrades, security policies, and application deployment.
  • Executes and manages infrastructure-as-code automation with Terraform and performs tasks aligned to projects in the operations space.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration across teams and builds strong relationships with corporate infrastructure leads and teams.
  • Ensures security is integrated into all planning and work and identifies opportunities to measure and continuously improve service delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure operations and engineering concepts in AWS and Azure, IT tools (monitoring, logging, alerting), and Service Now.
  • Strategic problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making ability, with a sense of urgency, demonstrated experience in a production environment.
  • Desire to measure and continuously improve with a metrics-and-reporting mindset and experience building, maintaining, monitoring, logging, and optimizing cloud-native business solutions.
  • Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes environments (AKS/EKS), GitHub Actions libraries, scripting (Bash, Python, etc.), and DevOps (CI/CD) tools and patterns.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and exceptional customer and end-user experience focus.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Typical requirement: 3 years of equivalent work experience across infrastructure and software engineering.
