Job Description

The Financial Asset Specialist will be responsible for managing the accounting and tax treatment of fixed assets. This includes recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets, tracking existing fixed assets, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and ATO regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor controls and procedures for the recording of fixed assets.
  • Record fixed asset acquisitions and disposals in SAP, including serial numbers for proper classification.
  • Schedule and manage depreciation in SAP for all fixed assets, reconciling balance reports to the general ledger.
  • Conduct periodic reviews for fixed assets, investigating potential obsolescence.

Requirements:

  • Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP.
  • CPA or equivalent certification (Preferred).
  • Prior experience in fixed asset accounting.
  • Knowledge of accounting requirements and tax regulations specific to fixed assets.
