Job Summary:

This Senior Tax Accountant role offers an exciting opportunity to support a client in managing various tasks, including financial statement processing, tax return preparation, and general ledger maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process financial statements up to Trial Balance stage for lodgement with the Australian Taxation Office.
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements and Installment Activity Statements for lodgement.
  • Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
  • Prepare private tax returns, trust, partnership tax returns, and End of year compliance jobs.
  • Experienced with Division 7a loans.
  • Complete required tax reporting in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and update tax provision schedules.
  • Research and correct process errors that caused incorrect tax filings and negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues.
  • Able to mentor and review work for existing Junior Accountants.
  • Lead future accountants, mentoring/reviewing work, and reporting to Managers.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of Accountancy or Accounting Technology; Advantage if CPA licensed.
  • Total of more than 4 years accounting and tax experience, with 4+ years of AU tax accounting experience.
  • Leadership capabilities and interest in leading the team in the future.
  • Advantage if with experiences in an accounting/audit firm.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Attentive to details and organized.
  • Good time management skills.
