Job Title: AI Science Prompt Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AI Science Prompt Engineer to join our team.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science and artificial intelligence, with expertise in designing and refining natural language prompts for AI models. This role requires a deep understanding of scientific concepts and the ability to apply them to develop effective prompts that maximize the effectiveness of AI systems in producing accurate, relevant, and scientifically rigorous results.

The successful candidate will work closely with data scientists, AI engineers, and domain experts to develop, test, and fine-tune prompts that cater to a wide range of scientific applications, such as data analysis, hypothesis generation, literature review, experimental design, and problem-solving within specific scientific domains (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, etc.).

Responsibilities:
  • Design, create, and refine effective natural language prompts for AI models that ensure the model understands the nuances of the scientific field.
  • Analyze the outputs generated by AI models based on the prompts, identifying patterns, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement. Use scientific reasoning and statistical analysis to interpret results and make data-driven adjustments to the prompts.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of prompt engineering workflows, model outputs, optimization processes, and findings. Prepare reports and presentations for internal teams or clients to explain the effectiveness and potential of AI models in scientific applications.
  • Ensure that prompt engineering adheres to ethical guidelines, particularly in areas like data privacy, reproducibility, and unbiased AI output.
  • Stay up-to-date on advancements in both artificial intelligence (especially in NLP) and the specific scientific fields you are working within.
Requirements:
  • Masters in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar) combined with a strong understanding of AI, machine learning, and natural language processing (NLP).
  • Experience with language models, such as GPT-3, GPT-4, or similar AI tools, and familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face). Understanding of prompt engineering techniques and AI fine-tuning methodologies.
  • Strong foundation in a specific scientific field (e.g., life sciences, environmental science, physics, or engineering). Ability to understand complex scientific concepts and translate them into AI-compatible formats.
  • Proficiency in Python and other programming languages commonly used in AI development. Familiarity with libraries such as NumPy, pandas, and scikit-learn, as well as tools for working with machine learning models.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills. Ability to approach problems creatively, apply scientific reasoning, and troubleshoot complex AI model outputs.
