Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance & Test Engineer

Pet Circle is a leading online pet store that aims to build a community of pet parents and their pets.

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Quality Assurance & Test Engineer to join our Engineering team within the Supply Chain and Operations pace.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Detailed Review: Review technical specifications and create test strategies to ensure thoroughness.
  • Test Improvement: Propose improvements in test systems and processes to improve quality or speed of testing, maximizing efficiency.
  • User Acceptance Testing: Conduct user acceptance and exploratory testing to guarantee seamless user experience.
  • Automated Functional Tests: Develop automated functional and performance tests to streamline the testing process.
  • Identifying Gaps: Identify test gaps and improve test plans to prevent issues.
  • Manual Testing: Perform manual testing of new features and bug fixes to ensure accuracy.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Identify and root cause issues in distributed systems, e.g., microservice, event-driven.
  • End-to-End Testing: Own the end-to-end testing of various integrated proprietary and third-party services.
  • Code Design Changes: Propose code design changes to increase testability, improving overall quality.
  • Issue Triage: Issue triaging and stakeholder engagement to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Testing Best Practices: Guide teams on testing best practices, coordinating test coverage across unit, integration, and contract testing.
  • New Application Releases: Conduct functional, regression, performance, ETL, and end-to-end testing of new application releases and change requests.
  • Engineering Team Guidance: Guide engineering teams in terms of test execution and review/audit the work done to ensure completeness and quality.
  • Severity Negotiation: Understand and negotiate with relevant stakeholders on identifying the severity and follow up until issues found are closed.
  • QA Documentation: Prepare and maintain all QA documentation such as Test Plan, Test Cases, Test Metrics, Issues List, and relevant records.
  • Potential Problems: Identify potential problems that end users might encounter and make suggestions on improvements required.

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance & Test Engineer who can bring expertise in test planning, execution, and delivery. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of software development lifecycle, quality assurance principles, and testing methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
