Chief Technologist

Job Title: Technical Leadership Role

As a senior technical lead, you will be responsible for guiding the development team and aligning the technical direction to meet business objectives. Your leadership skills will play a crucial role in providing motivation and support to your team members.

• You will collaborate with product owners to develop user stories and ensure they align with the product roadmap.
• Work with solution architects to design technical solutions that meet business requirements within the defined framework.
• Liaise with team members, delivery leads, and product owners to guarantee projects are completed to standard.
• Oversee deployments and new releases, ensuring they align with the product roadmap.
• Advise delivery leads, product owners, and the team on technical implementation, providing guidance on best practices and coding standards.
• Document system design and program specifications in technical design documents.
• Review code to ensure it adheres to best practices and coding standards.
• Identify and remove bottlenecks that hinder sprint progress.
• Solve issues and develop workarounds and alternative solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Science & Technology, or equivalent.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum process, language, and ceremonies.
• Familiarity with Java and Spring/SpringBoot.
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g. Oracle).
• Solid understanding of API, microservice, and integration concepts and technologies.
• Leadership experience in development teams.
• Excellent analytical, technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
• Proven ability to solve problems creatively.

The following requirements are desirable but not necessary:

• Familiarity with AWS, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, or other public cloud platforms.
• Experience with Cloud Native Infrastructure, DevSecOps, and Microservice Architecture.
• Experience deploying apps to App Store and Play Store.
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. ReactJS).
• Background in backend, web, and mobile application development.
