Job Overview

As a software development engineer in test, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality of our software products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-quality acceptance tests from acceptance criteria and quality standards to help the scrum team understand the value of user stories from the user's perspective.
  • Collaborate with the scrum team to identify appropriate tests to automate, thereby getting the team closer to delivering working software to production at the end of every sprint.
  • Work on maintaining continuous and daily automated test execution by ensuring that the test suite has sufficient coverage and failed tests are consistently reviewed.
  • Integrate best practices into the daily norm, including code maintainability and adherence to design patterns such as modularity, reusability, etc.
  • Advocate for improving quality throughout all stages of software development, especially adopting a shift-left testing mindset.
  • Serve as a champion of quality for the scrum team and support knowledge-sharing sessions, lunch & learn, brown-bag sessions, and other learning events.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Hold at least a Bachelor's/College Degree or possess significant experience in a technology-related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills, focusing on value-added operations.
  • Good understanding of agile software development principles and practices.
  • Intermediate skills in API-based automated test development.
  • Intermediate skills with UI automated test development, including Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright.
  • Beginner knowledge in profiling applications and concepts.
  • Basic SQL skills in tuning and optimizing T-SQL and database optimization.
  • Intermediate skills in unit testing.
  • Intermediate knowledge of tools and techniques used in manual testing.
  • Ability to convert manual tests into scripted automated tests.
  • Strong technical foundation, fluency in programming languages like C#, or similar development tools.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with creating test scenarios from functional requirements and/or User Stories using the Gherkin format is a plus.
  • Knowledge of development tools such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or Azure SQL is an advantage.
  • Intermediate skills in writing T-SQL and data testing skills are desirable.
  • Experience with automated testing via DevOps CI/CD pipelines is a bonus.
  • Exposure to debugging using Azure Application Insights or other APM tools is beneficial.
