News and Public Relations Associate

We are seeking an experienced News and Public Relations Associate to join our team. In this role, you will assist with journalistic and public relations work, collaborating with business journalists and PR associates to achieve successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research, cover, and write engaging business stories for various audiences.
  • Write and schedule weekly newsletters highlighting company news and updates.
  • Create compelling podcast features that showcase our expertise and thought leadership.
  • Pitch, research, and write newsworthy press releases that generate media coverage.
  • Manage public affairs and media efforts, including writing and placing op-eds and mobilizing editorial campaigns.
  • Develop graphics and other creative assets to enhance our visual brand.
  • Manage our social media platforms to engage with our audience and promote our content.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • One to two years of experience working in digital marketing, journalism, or public relations.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A drive for results and a passion for storytelling.
Essential Skills

You should have:

  • Writing and email marketing experience.
  • Social media management skills from a corporate perspective.
  • Basic graphic design using Canva or Photoshop.
  • Technical competence to resolve problems independently.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
Nice-To-Have Skills

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience with project management tools like Clickup.
  • Basic web design using Wordpress.
  • Copywriting skills.
  • Familiarity with Facebook ads, Google Adwords, Pinterest ads, SEO, and email deliverability optimization.
  • Public relations experience.
