Lead Structural Designer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Lead Structural Designer to join our team. As a Lead Structural Designer, you will be responsible for overseeing structural design projects from concept to completion.

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Manage tasks related to client coordination, including proactive and effective communication with clients and external teams, and collaborating and coordinating with other disciplines' design changes and model challenges.
  • Design Execution: Produce structural drawings and create Revit models that meet quality standards. Conduct quality checks on own work, project modelers, and design modelers.
  • Continuing Education: Seek out and participate in continuing education opportunities. Update and improve standards and best practices through material groups.
  • Team Leadership: Grow proficiency in various material, market, and project types. Coordinate with clients to ensure projects meet client expectations.
  • Structural Drawings and Revit Models: Perform advanced model execution (complex geometry), model detailing, takeoffs/target value models, and ensure construction documents are accurately modeled.
  • Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Associates or combined education and experience.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional: Revit for Structural Design.
  • 3+ years of full-time work experience in structural design.
  • Experience in mid-sized structural projects ($5M - $50M).
  • 3+ years Revit Experience.
  • Working knowledge Tekla, SDS/2, and/or StrucSoft highly preferred.
  • Strong organization, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed.
