Key Financial Modelling Role

We are seeking a highly experienced professional to take on a key role in our financial modelling team. As a Manager - Model Build, you will work closely with our senior management team to create, analyse and optimise complex financial models, ensuring they are robust and reliable.



Job Responsibilities
  • Managing a portfolio of active assignments, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Leading the creation and optimisation of comprehensive financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Developing and refining assumptions, parameters and scenarios under the guidance of senior managers to ensure model robustness and reliability.
  • Discussing commercial issues with clients and ensuring they are accurately reflected in the model.
  • Performing sensitivity analysis and stress testing to validate model assumptions and outputs, aiding clients in making informed decisions.
  • Contributing to the development and enhancement of our financial modelling methodologies and tools, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Preparing comprehensive model documentation detailing assumptions, methodologies and results.
  • Maintaining meticulous records of modelling processes and methodologies to uphold our high standards and ensure consistency.
  • Leading the development of project plans, timelines and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.


Team Leadership
  • Leading a team of modelling professionals, guiding them in their roles and responsibilities.
  • Training, motivating and managing junior team members on assignments.
  • Collaborating closely with team members, learning from and contributing to assignments.
  • Communicating model findings and insights effectively to clients and internal teams.
  • Simplifying complex financial model issues to make them understandable for non-technical stakeholders.


Business Growth
  • Supporting business development and growth ambitions, particularly in key sectors.
  • Leading the development of client pitches, showcasing our expertise and capabilities.
  • Leading client calls and building relationships, ensuring excellent customer service.


Requirements
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in a financial role within a recognised advisory practice or large corporate setting.
  • A good appreciation of accounting concepts; an accounting qualification is beneficial.
  • An in-depth understanding of Project Finance, Corporate Finance or Financial Planning concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven experience in building and operating financial models using Excel.
  • Degree qualified in a numerate discipline, with a postgraduate qualification in accounting or finance beneficial.
  • Experience with the FAST financial modelling standard is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
