Job Overview

The Senior Tax Accountant plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality working papers and collaborating with the onshore team to ensure seamless client tax compliance reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance: Preparation and lodgement of individual income tax returns, business activity statements, installment activity statements, and fringe benefits tax returns.
  • Financial Management: Bookkeeping in client accounting files including Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks, payroll processing in client accounting files including Xero and MYOB, and uploading invoice payments for clients.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Preparation of monthly management reports (i.e., P&L and balance sheet) for clients from their accounting platforms, as well as quarterly superannuation payments.
  • Ad-Hoc Tasks: Accounting for Division 7a loans, tax planning, trust distribution minutes, and reviewing work prepared by junior accountants including individual tax returns, BAS's, IAS's, payroll, etc. as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Accounting expertise: In-depth knowledge of taxation laws, accounting principles, and financial regulations.

Technical skills: Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and other accounting software.

Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with the onshore team and clients.

Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve complex financial issues.

Professional certifications: Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) certification.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
