Accounting Support Specialist

About the Role:

This is a key position that requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

 

  • General bookkeeping from transactional recordings through to the preparation of internal financial statements
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts, AR, AP, intercompany loans, credit cards and investigation of discrepancies
  • Record prepaid and accrued expenses
  • Record regular transactions for investment accounts
  • Tracking business expenses
  • Calculation, reporting and filing of GST/QST reports, payroll and DAS and issues related thereto
  • Record year-end entries and balance the financial statements
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks Desktop and Online and Sage 50 for efficient record-keeping and reporting
  • Maintain organized financial documentation

 

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have prior experience working with accounting software (QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Sage 50, Writeup, CaseWare and others) and strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

 

  • CPA or Non-CPA
  • At least 2-3 years of work experience in Accounting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to create and adhere to scheduled work, meet budgeted goals and hours, and complete work on time
  • Takes responsibility for work, follows up and follows through (beginning to end)
