Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Publishing Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our publishing department, you will be responsible for managing the development of children's books from concept to publication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: You will assist in coordinating with freelancers, monitoring project timelines, and ensuring deadlines are met.

  • Content Support: You will review and provide feedback on drafts, organize and maintain book-related files and documentation.

  • Marketing & Advertising Assistance: You will support promotional efforts, including basic advertising, content preparation for listings, and outreach.

  • Publishing Support: You will research best practices for self-publishing platforms, assist in formatting and preparing manuscripts for publication, and keep track of royalties, sales, and promotional results.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in publishing, editorial support, or project coordination in a creative field is required.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

  • Experience collaborating with creatives such as illustrators and writers is necessary.

  • You should be a self-starter with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.

  • You should be comfortable working independently in a startup environment.

  • Familiarity with children's book content and trends is a plus.

  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of publishing platforms like KDP or IngramSpark.

  • Experience with graphic design tools or basic book formatting is beneficial.

  • Background in marketing or social media promotion for creative products is desirable.
