Tax Specialist

Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm seeking an Associate, Sales Tax Compliance to join their dynamic team. This role will provide an opportunity for candidates to maximize their opportunities in a rapidly evolving industry.

• Prepare workpapers and file state and local sales tax returns effectively.
• Conduct thorough research on various indirect tax matters, including nexus and state filing requirements.
• Respond to notices received and participate in sales tax reviews efficiently.
• Perform other duties assigned by the management.

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field required.
• 1-2 years of experience related to tax and/or accounting necessary.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment essential.
• Quick learner with strong adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.).
• A data-conscious individual willing to learn how systems/software integrate and produce information to verify data or identify anomalies.
• A proven track record of working independently with a strong sense of ownership.
• Responsible and reliable, capable of maintaining individual production while fostering a team atmosphere.
• Possess deductive reasoning and a growth mindset.
• Open to embracing new challenges and devising innovative solutions.
