Job Description

The role of a Senior System Designer is responsible for providing strategic direction and inputs on projects that affect assigned domains. The primary goal is to ensure the overall integrity, sustainability, and robustness of system design throughout the entire development lifecycle.

  • This requires knowledge of existing technology landscapes and aligning design and recommendations with the company's overall systems strategy and applicable IT standards.
  • The ideal candidate will be focused on designing elegant, optimized, modularized, and reusable solutions that are flexible and extensible.
Main Responsibilities
  • Establish domain expertise and serve as subject matter expert in solutions design.
  • Provide design direction and recommendations on software solutions, infrastructure, methodologies, skills, talents, and innovation.
  • Collaborate with project teams, enterprise architects, and different IT teams to create holistic solutions across multiple domains.
  • Act as custodian of design and development best practices, cascading and upholding these principles to development teams.
  • Co-create architecture submissions with project teams and align with the architecture team prior to presentation.
  • Perform proof-of-concept tasks to support the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Assist development teams as needed with augmenting their capabilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, good interviewing skills, and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in system analysis, solutioning, and coding, preferably in the insurance or financial industry.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Waterfall methodologies, Systems Development Life Cycles, and Insurance principles.
  • Proficiency in Micro front-end approaches, Web components, Angular/React, Bootstrap, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Invision, Java, NodeJS, jUnit, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Spring framework, JSON, XML, SoapUI, Docker/Kubernetes.
