Network Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the technical infrastructure as required to meet business needs with little or no supervision. This includes proactive software updates and patching, equipment and software refresh/maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and engineer a modernized infrastructure to replace the current operational infrastructure that has reached end-of-life
  • Provision VMs in the VMWare hypervisor, networking where needed, learn Ribbon product to test and deploy, support deployments from Scott AFB, maintain system in O&M (Tier 2/3), administer system updates and maintain security of system
  • Provide first-level support and troubleshooting for incidents reported by system monitoring, change requests, users' support tickets, or networking with IT peers
Requirements
  • DoD Secret Clearance Required - Top Secret Preferred
  • 3+ years of experience managing federal IT network modernization work or system projects of similar scope and complexity
  • At least 2 years of systems engineering experience with Linux, in combination with Networking tools and/or VMWare
  • Experience with Ribbon/Sonus SBC and VOIP – highly preferred
  • Apply patches and apply change control best practices for validating production
  • Knowledge of relational database systems and SQL tools
  • Knowledge of system documentation and organization
  • Current technology and practices, including application and network security
  • Personal computer hardware knowledge
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Time management skills, able to take ownership and complete assigned tasks
  • Detail oriented, problem-solving skills
  • IAT Level II Certification, Security Plus (Sec+)
  • Willingness to be on site 3 days per week
