Backend Developer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled backend developer to join our development team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and developing robust backend systems and APIs that power scalable applications.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable backend systems and APIs.
  • Develop public-facing APIs, ensuring secure and efficient access.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and deployment.
  • Implement observability practices using tools like Datadog or New Relic.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers and product teams to align backend architecture with product needs.
  • Work with PostgreSQL and PostGIS for advanced SQL and geospatial data management.
  • Develop solutions within AWS environments (API Gateway, Lambda, Serverless Stack).
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance system performance and reliability.

Requirements:
  • 5 years of backend software development experience, including building public-facing API products.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with expertise in frameworks like Flask or FastAPI.
  • Highly proficient in SQL and PostgreSQL, with experience in geospatial extensions like PostGIS.
  • Solid understanding of full-stack technologies required to build and run APIs.
  • Skilled in RESTful API design and management, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Hands-on experience working with AWS services, including API Gateway, Lambda, and the Serverless Stack.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven technologies like webhooks.
  • Experience integrating spatial mapping libraries like Mapbox or working with GIS concepts relevant to utility networks.
  • Production-level experience with observability tools like Datadog or New Relic.
  • Strong grasp of CI/CD methodologies and ability to build and maintain pipelines effectively.
  • Experience working with agile development methodologies.

Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with geospatial data formats like GeoJSON, shapefiles, or KMZ.
  • Understanding of telecom or utility network planning and deployment workflows.
  • Experience with frontend frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Familiarity with Figma or other UI/UX prototyping tools.
