Job Description

Data Engineer II Role Overview

We're seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer II to join our team and contribute to designing, building, and managing large-scale data solutions on the Microsoft Data platform. As a key member of our data engineering team, you'll work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage data and drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Implement Data Solutions: Utilize your expertise in Spark SQL, ETL pipelines, and data modeling to create robust and scalable data solutions that meet business requirements.
  2. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with business leaders, data scientists, and developers to understand their data needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  3. Implement ETL Pipelines: Leverage tools like Azure Data Factory, DBT, Fabric, Synapse, and other SQL engines to design and implement efficient ETL pipelines that optimize data quality and performance.
  4. Develop and Deploy Data Models: Use Power BI and Fabric to design and deploy data models and data warehousing solutions that provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.
  5. Ensure Data Governance: Develop and implement data governance policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • 3+ Years of Experience: Proven experience in data engineering with hands-on expertise in Spark SQL, ETL pipelines, and data modeling.
  • DBT Expertise: At least 1 year of experience working with DBT and a solid understanding of DBT concepts.
  • Microsoft Certifications: Related Microsoft certifications, such as DP-203.
  • Pyspark and Scala Development Skills: Proficiency in Pyspark and/or Scala development.
  • Power BI Expertise: 1+ years of experience building Power BI models and visualizations with a solid understanding of DAX and Power BI visualization techniques.
