About the Position

This role involves collaboration with design teams in Dundee and other facilities and suppliers in designing, evaluating, testing, and supporting devices used in self-service products like ATMs.

  • Evaluate various technologies and provide recommendations with supporting analysis.
  • Express interest in mechanism design.
  • Collaborate with tooling suppliers and parts manufacturers.
  • Deliver efficient designs meeting specifications and engineering standards.
  • Engage with suppliers and manage changes.
  • Validate designs through design reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances, testing, and problem resolution.
  • Release work products using the approved system with necessary documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • A degree in mechanical engineering.
  • A solid understanding of mechanical design principles and technologies.
  • At least 4-5 years of work experience in related roles.
  • Familiarity with technology areas including:
    • Solid modeling using 3D CAD systems (preferably Creo).
    • An understanding of plastic molding and typical media handling components, along with good knowledge of tooling and parts manufacturing.
    • Simulation/FEA experience is beneficial.
    • Design of Experiments, FMEA experience is beneficial.
  • A clear understanding of documentation and the ability to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Willingness to work towards high work standards and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaboration with suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
