Job Title: Folding Carton Packaging Estimator


Overview:


  • As a folding carton packaging estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for folding carton packaging projects.
  • You will analyze packaging specifications, customer drawings, and production capabilities to determine the best course of action.
  • Collaborate with sales, production, and design teams to ensure job scope and manufacturing requirements are met.
  • Utilize historical cost data and supplier pricing to prepare quotes that meet customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain pricing databases and Excel-based estimate sheets to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support customer inquiries with technical and cost-related input to build trust and confidence.
  • Monitor job costing performance to refine future estimations and identify areas for improvement.


Required Skills and Qualifications:


  • Proven experience in estimating folding carton packaging projects is essential for success in this role.
  • Working knowledge of printing processes, including offset printing and color matching, is necessary to understand the complexities of the job.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools, is required to manage large datasets and create accurate estimates.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities are required to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with customers.


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:


  • Prior experience with packaging or print production software is beneficial, but not required.
  • Familiarity with structural design tools, such as ArtiosCAD, is a plus.
  • Background in packaging engineering or graphic production is advantageous, but not necessary.
