Job Opportunity:

The role of a skilled sewer involves utilizing various types of sewing machines, measuring and cutting fabric according to patterns or specifications, and performing pattern making tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sewing: Create or alter clothing and textile products using industrial and manual sewing machines
  • Cutting: Measure and cut fabric according to patterns or specifications
  • Pattern Making: Assist with creating patterns for garments
  • Machine Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance and upkeep of sewing machines
  • Fabric Handling: Work with various fabrics, understanding their properties and using appropriate sewing techniques
Additional Tasks:
  • Operate different types of sewing machines (high-speed, over lock, piping machines)
  • Alter clothing (jeans, blouses, dresses)
  • Assist with customer interactions (taking measurements, providing advice)
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, applicants must have at least 1 year of experience as a skilled sewer. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are also essential.
