Design Drafter for Furniture and Millwork

We are seeking a detail-oriented Design Drafter with specialized experience in furniture production to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming concepts and specifications into precise technical drawings that guide the fabrication and assembly of custom furniture products.

You will work closely with designers and production staff to ensure that all technical documentation meets both aesthetic and functional standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in drafting, deep knowledge of materials and construction methods used in furniture making, and the ability to work efficiently in a collaborative environment.

This is a full-time remote position that requires a high degree of accuracy and quality. If you have experience working with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software, and a passion for creating detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, we want to hear from you

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
  • Translate design concepts and sketches into fully dimensioned production-ready technical documents
  • Prepare exploded views, assembly instructions, and component lists to support fabrication and installation processes
  • Maintain organized documentation of all revisions, drawings, and technical records
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Industrial Design, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in technical drafting, specifically in the furniture manufacturing or millwork industry
  • Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, materials, and hardware used in furniture production
  • Familiarity with CNC production workflows, material optimization, and lean manufacturing principles is a plus
  • Experience working with global or distributed teams is a plus
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks, Revit, or other drafting/CAD software
