Geospatial Developer Opportunity

Empowering individuals through opportunities and knowledge is at the heart of our mission. We are seeking a skilled Geospatial Developer to join our team and contribute to driving operational efficiency.

As a key member of our operations teams, you will design, build, and maintain internal tools and automation systems that streamline workflows and enhance the customer experience. You will develop custom scripts and applications to process geospatial data, automate transformation tasks, and manage data pipelines into our databases.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain internal tools and scripts using Python to support operations workflows.
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes for spatial data into relational databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
  • Automate data transformation and processing pipelines to improve efficiency and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot and support internal tools and workflows in both production and development environments.
  • Ensure code quality through version control, testing, code reviews, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Follow best practices in software engineering and continuously seek ways to improve development processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant engineering field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Python development.
  • Hands-on experience with geospatial tools such as QGIS, PyQGIS, or GIS libraries like GDAL/OGR, Shapely, or GeoPandas.
  • Demonstrated experience in scripting and automating data processing tasks.
  • Proficient in SQL and relational databases, with a preference for PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently from concept through to delivery.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
