Accountant Role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software.

This is a remote position where you can work from home. We require a quiet private space where you can focus on your work without background noise.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on a graveyard shift and be comfortable learning new systems and software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Record keeping for management reporting and analytical reports.
  • Management of accounts receivable, payable, and invoicing.
  • Assist with client planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Preparation of financial statements, month-end close processes, journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Act as the firm's expert on internal processes, documenting what is learned, and assisting in control development and improvements.
  • Work with clients to obtain documentation and information, ensuring timely scheduling and tracking, and meeting client deliverables through milestone achievement.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and professional communication at all times.
  • Complete administrative or ad-hoc work to assist the firm or team.
  • Solve problems and escalate to a manager as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Bookkeeping.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with full-cycle bookkeeping.
  • Comfortable learning new systems and software (QuickBooks Online, Receipt Bank, Yardi, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CRA requirements and filings (HST, WSIB, EHT).
  • Experience with cloud-based bookkeeping software (QBO, XERO, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong people skills and teamwork mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable with ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Motivated self-starter willing to take ownership of work.
  • Continuous learning and skills improvement mentality.
  • Deliver on commitments with clear objectives and goals.
  • Strong time-management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Prior experience working on a graveyard shift required.
  • Must have laptop/desktop meeting minimum qualifications: Core i5 or higher processor, 8GB RAM or higher, Download Speed at least 6 Mbps, Upload Speed at least 6 Mbps.
