Galvanizing Process Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled individual to prepare products and materials for the galvanizing process. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling various types of materials and equipment, including spreader bars, tubular products, and small parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect production fixtures, chains, and hooks to ensure safe use and disposition.
  • Prepare small to medium-sized parts for pickling or galvanizing by hand-wiring them to racks.
  • Pull and place chains and ropes around steel bundles for racking.
  • Move lightweight steel pieces from different locations in the plant and yard.
  • Perform quality control functions using air guns to blow off zinc needles.
  • Assist in general plant clean up and housekeeping.
Requirements
  • The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Accurate reading of a tape measure.
  • Effective communication of problems or needs to supervision.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds from ground to shoulder height or higher.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods in an open-air environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six months of previous experience in a galvanizing position.
  • Previous experience with hand tools and gauges, including impact wrenches, air grinders, drills, taps, oxygen acetylene torches, and mill gauges.
  • Operating a bridge crane.
  • Effective communication and interaction with coworkers.
