Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team at Planters Products, Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for providing detailed cost information that is not supplied by the Financial Statements.

You will analyze data and information affecting prices and profitability of products, and review bills of materials, movements of inventories for accuracy and entry in the accounting system.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Management, and strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Cost Accountant looking to take their career to the next level in a dynamic and growing company.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Review and encode materials conversion to Finished Goods.
  2. Estimate/Calculate annual standard labor and overhead rates for each manufacturing process.
  3. Compile cost data for preparation of standard cost increases for the following year. Update standard costs quarterly.
  4. Prepare cost estimates for new products and product changes.
  5. Review raw material and packaging standard costs for accuracy on a quarterly basis.
  6. Assist in calculation of cost savings for imported Technical Materials and measurement of actual savings.
  7. Record all approved inventory asset disposals (i.e. samples, damaged, donations).
  8. Reconciliation of inventory ledgers of accounts.
